The HydroCamel project is the first Israeli Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
AUV’s are being used around the world for underwater exploration, underwater cable layout and inspection, marine biology and geology sampling, archeology, different kinds of military missions and much more…
Started at 2013 especially for the robosub competition then the first HydroCamel was built in a duration of 9 months by a team of 20 students.
Two years later the HydroCamel 2 was built and it is currently the BEST AUV that is designed and manufactured in Israel, with more than 250 hours at sea it is a reliable platform with capabilities such as: mission planning, obstacle avoidance, an accurate navigation system and decision making.
Overall the team have developed 2 AUV’s and a Kayak platform as an Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV).
Our main research fields are in: multi-platform collaboration, acoustic networks, underwater navigation and sonar data detection and classification.
